Coming from a Rajasthani heritage, Shikha was introduced to jewellery very early on. She saw pieces of exquisite pieces pass from generations in her family and the same as she got married. She was very passionate and always felt jewellery buying bought happiness to her. She decided she wanted to start a brand that spreads the happiness she felt and at the same time create pieces which were one of a kind.
With that passion, Shikha, 25 years old at the time started her own brand called Neelima jewels in 2002. With no experience in either business or designing, she learnt everything on the job. She observed karigars and their processes, new techniques and kept at it till she got it right. While designing still had women, procuring polkis, stones and any other material was a fairly male dominated industry. Being self-taught and a women she faced a few challenges initially but her persistent attitude helped her overcame those obstacles.
Neelima creates pieces which are unique and are for everybody. The brand has redefined extensive range of quality Diamond Polki, Jadau jewellery Showcasing Bridal Sets, Bangles, Suteli, Kada, Bajuband, Rings, Rakhdi, Payal etc. for women as well as Buttons, Tie Brooches, Kalangi etc. for men. The brand strongly believes in offering ethnic jewellery with contemporary designs that is available at the most competitive rates. The Rajasthani Traditional handcrafted jewellery available in unique kundan and meenakari work that exhibits the royal life of Rajasthan with creativity, class and elegance. Shikha designs all her products and does quality check for each piece. Also, apart from creating heritage pieces, Neelima also has products which can be worn on a daily basis.
Apart from being the powerhouse at Neelima, Shikha is also an astro-scientist and a maha-vastu expert.
