Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India]: Celebrating International Women’s Day 2024 under the theme ‘Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress,’ the annual Naari Awards, hosted by the Maritime Union of India and the National Union of Seafarers of India once again honoured women making significant social impacts in various sectors. This year, the spotlight shone brightly on Arushi Sethi, founder of Trijog, for her outstanding leadership in advancing mental health care and promoting women’s empowerment within the maritime industry.
The Naari Awards aim to honour women leaders who are contributing to the upliftment of women, enhancing women’s safety, and making substantial social impacts. Arushi Sethi’s recognition stemmed from her remarkable efforts in developing women’s safety, family safety, and mental health care initiatives that have positively influenced the psychological well-being of seafarers and their families across India.
As the founder of Trijog, Arushi Sethi has been at the forefront of providing crucial mental health care services to the Indian Transport Workers Federation (ITF) and the Maritime Union of India. Trijog’s innovative approach to mental health care has ensured that seafarers and their families receive the necessary counselling and support to navigate the pressures, stress, and challenges they face both onshore and offshore.
Arushi Sethi emphasized the importance of nurturing mental health and creating a safer environment for seafarers. Trijog’s comprehensive programs, including one-to-one counselling and group sessions, have been instrumental in addressing anxiety, stress management, and holistic well-being among maritime workers.
Arushi Sethi’s journey towards this prestigious recognition began in 2015 when she co-founded Trijog with a vision to create structured support systems for mental health care. Over the years, Trijog has expanded its reach from individual care to impacting corporate and public sectors, bridging the gap in mental health services for both white-collar and blue-collar employees.
Through her tireless dedication and leadership, Arushi Sethi has demonstrated the transformative power of feminine leadership and empathy in driving positive change. Trijog’s collaboration with the National Union of Seafarers of India since 2017 has been pivotal in bringing mental health care to the forefront of the maritime industry, ensuring the well-being of seafarers and their families.
Arushi Sethi’s honourary award as a guest of honour by the Maritime Union of India and the National Union of Seafarers of India symbolizes her commitment to championing women’s leadership and empowering individuals through emotional literacy and mental health care.
